The Call of the Domestic Life

In recent months, I've been feeling more and more the need to live a "simple" domestic life. It's not that I "like" or "enjoy" housekeeping all day, every day, but (beware, old-fashioned, out of date statement coming) I feel like I "belong" at home right now (there, I said it). Yes, the "independent woman" in me wants to go to work, make my own money, and all that jazz, but at the same time, I've had this overwhelming need to be home with my kids, raising them "the right way," and it only seems to be getting stronger. Now that we are facing the very real possibility of having to move in the near future, it seems like the perfect opportunity to make that change in our lifestyle.

I guess you could say, in many ways, this is the feeling that gave birth to this blog. I've wanted to homeschool since my oldest was born (11 years ago), but until now, I've been too busy or too afraid to try it. Even now, I really don't know where/how to start, but I'm willing to step out on faith and find out. As for keeping house, I've gotten a lot better at keeping things decent around here. I can only imagine that with a house to ourselves and less stuff floating around things can only get better right? Here's to becoming less domestically challenged in 2013! :o)
